Sudoku enthusiasts will be saddened to hear of the death of Telegraph Sudoku puzzle setter Michael Mepham, who died at the age of 62 on 16th December 2006.

Originally a crossword expert, he turned his hand to Sudoku, introducing it to the Daily Telegraph in February 2006. He published a number of books of Sudoku and Kakuro puzzles, many of which became best sellers.
